In either case, an additional public hearing is held which gives <br />citillEms a chance for review. . Resolution, 400 Uni,ts Additiona-lLow-.Rent Housing - Mr. Gribsko.v said, regarding the <br />Joint Housing Commission Resolutron preyiously heard~ there have been new develop- <br />memts ~ and he a.sked Mrs: Nivent~ .,outline th~m. .. <br /> <br />I <br />II <br />.1 <br />!i <br />i: <br /> <br />. ," , . . / <br />Mrs. Betty Niv~n, :Planning Commission member, s'aid the Housing E?Cpediter had determined <br />that' the -Lutheran Layman' s .~eqgu~ submitted a proposal for, a rent ~up'plement" 'project <br />to, the D~part:'ment of Housing. and 'Urban Development\, and that they had' received what <br />they termed an or.al commitment from FHA for their 'project. Mrs. Niven said she had <br />subsequently been informed that FHA . gives no oral ,commitments. She proposed two changes <br />in the--Resolution to assure' developers th,at their./requests would not be j eopard~z,ed <br />by the Joint Housing C01l).mittee resolution. She proposed that the 400 units requested <br />be changed- to 300 units, and if the private housing ,did not materialize, ~ subsequent <br />proposal could be submitted for an additional 100 units. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council members felt with the extreme shortage of low income housing, that the <br />Resolution should still be submitted for 400 units.
