, e 2-Cf 7/27/70 I I 7. Appointment, Traffic Safety Commission - Mayor Anderson appointed Mrs. Shirley Shepherd and Mr. Ron Burke to serve on the Traffic Safety Commission. In answer to Mrs. Beal, Mayor Anderson said the Traffic Safety Commission is advisory to the Police Department, holds- public meetings and brings up certain problem areas. Chairman is Mr. Jim Dumas. Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague to approve Item 7 of the Committee report. Motion carried. I 8. Distribution - Mr~ Mills circulated among the Council a petition supporting law enforcement agencies in handling of campus disturbances. There were about 1180 signatures on the petition. I A City Attorney opinion regarding room tax allocation to the Chamber of m ~ommerce was previously mailed to the Council. Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague to receive and file Item 8 of the Committee report. e Motion carried. I 9. Appeal from Sign Code Board of Appeals Decision (Tiffany Davis) - Tiffany Davis has requ~sted permission to install an S & H Green Stamp sign at I Oakway Mall. Liquor License Requests - Approved by Police Department Package Store "B" - The Wine Hut, 260 Valley River Center I Mayor Anderson commented that it was Council practice to publicize a public I hearing on new locations, and give residents a chance to appear. I Retail Malt Beverage Class C - Black Forest, 2657 Willamette, request for I greater privileges. I I II I Restaurant, Class B - Moreno's Mexico, 433 East Broadway, change to corporation. I I I Mr. Gribskov moved seconded by Mr. Williams to approve request of Black Forest and Moreno's Mexico. Motion carried. Mr. McDonald moved seconded by Mr. Teague to approve Item 10 of the Committee report. Motion carried. In answer to Mayor Anderson, the City Manager said notice had been published regarding the request , for liquor license for the Wine Hut. Vote taken on motion. Motion carried.
