Victor E~oniuk and Kathryn Wise; east of River Road between River Avenue and <br />Beltline, AGT to C-2 <br /> <br />Manager explained that this property is located on the south side of River <br />Avenue north of the sewage treatment plant. The Planning Commission was concerned <br />that the property was accessible from only two points, and that a commercial use <br />would create a great deal of additional traffic. They felt the area could be <br />used for some types of light industrial purposes. The request is for a roller <br />rink which is not an allowable use in the M-l District, which the Planning Commission '; <br />. felt was a proper zone for this area. The Planning Commission has called a> <br />hearing to determine if roller rinks would be a proper conditional use for this zone.. <br /> <br />", <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />b. Add Pool and Billiard Halls to conditional uses in C-2 zones <br />Mrs. Charles McGowan asked that the Council give favorable consideration to <br />the Planning Commission recommendation. She said that Pool and Billiard Halls <br />are now considered a form of fami'ly recreation. She requested that an <br />emergency clause be added to the ordinance. March 8, 1971 PlanBing Commission meeting <br />1. Recommended approval: <br />a. Alley vacation between Broadway and 10th, east of High (Register Guard) <br />The Planning Commission simply recommended that vacation of the alley be <br />approved. It is now a Council determination whether to levy an assessment <br />for the value of the property. Eugene-Springfield Mass Transit Study - The Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of the study, commenting that it represented a sound basis upon <br />which to initiate a public mass transit system. It felt further studies were <br />necessary to integrate transit into the long-range planning process, and to <br />develop more precise transit system operational plans. <br /> <br />Economic <br />system. <br />comment, <br /> <br />self-sufficiency should not be a priority objective for the transit <br />The report should be referred to the E-SATS committee Tor review and <br />prior to adoption by Lane Council of Governments. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mrs~ Beal felt that illY thing this important needed more consideration than could <br />be given at this late hour, and asked that it be put on a later agenda.
