<br />Council Chamber <br />Eugene, Oregon <br />July 26, 1972 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the Common Council of the city of Eugene, Oregon was called to order by His <br />~ Honor Mayor Lester E. Anderson at 1:45 p.m. on July 26, 1972 in the Council Chamber with the <br />following councilmen present: Mr. Mohr, Mrs. Beal, Mepsrs. Teague, Williams, Mrs. Campbell, <br />and Mr. Bradshaw. Councilmen McDonald and Hershner were absent. <br /> <br />The meeting was called for the purpose of setting an election date at which to present to the <br />voters a revised amount exceeding the 6% limitation, following defeat of the measure at the <br />July 25 election. There was discussion with regard to holding the election in conjunction <br />with the Bethel School District's election on August 15, but motiori:by Mr. Mohr seconded by <br />Mrs. Beal to hold a special City election on August 15 was defeated. It was deemed better <br />not to callan election for that day without first having consulted with the.School District <br />Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr moved seconded by Mrs..Campbell to hold an election on Thursday, <br />August 17, 1972. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />Resolution No. 20.88 - authorizing election August 17, 1972 to exceed 6% limitation by <br />$2,175,214 was submitted. <br /> <br />I Mr. Mohr moved seconded by Mrs. Beal to adopt the resolution. Rollcall vote. All councilmen <br />~ present voting aye, motion carried. <br />. <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 49 - Calling election August 17, 1972 to exceed 6% limitation by <br />$2,175,214 was submitted and read the first time by council bill number and title only, there <br />being no councilman present.> requesting that it be read in full. <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr moved seconded by Mrs. Beal that the bill be read the second time by council bill number <br />only, with unanimous consent of the Council, and that enactment be considered at this time. <br />Motion carried unanimously and the bill was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr. moved seconded by Mrs. Beal that the bill be approved and given final passage. Rollcall <br />vote.
