<br />Council Bill No. 194 - Levying assessments for paving north/south alley between Oak Street <br />and High Street from 27th Avenue to 270 feet north (72-41) was submitted and read the first <br />time by council bill number and title only, there being no councilman present requesting that <br />it be read in full. <br />, I <br /> <br />Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr. Williams that the bill be referred. to Assessment Hearing Panel <br />on March 5, 1973 and brought back for Council consideration of Panel recommendation on <br />March 12, 19 7~. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Counc~l Bill No. 195 - J;,evying assess!!lents for paving Norwood Street ,from Carmel Avenue <br />to Marlow Lane (72-42) was2submitted and read the first time by council bill number and title <br />only, there being no councilman present'::--requesting that it be read in full. <br /> <br />Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr. Williams that the bill be referred to Assessment Hearing Panel <br />on March 5, 1973 and brought back for Council consideration of Panel recommendation on <br />March 12, 1973. Highway 99 and <br />400 feet west and between 5th Avenue and 1700 feet northwest (72-56) was submitted and read <br />the .first time by council billnumbeF' and title only, there being no councilman present re- <br />questing that it be re,ad in full. <br /> <br />Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr. Williams that the bill be referred to Assessment Hearing Panel <br />on March 5, 1973 and brought back for Council consideration of Panel recommendation on <br />March 12, 1973. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IV - Resolutions <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2151 - Authorizing increase in taxicab service rates was submitted. <br /> <br />Councilman McDonald said he was voting "no" because he felt taxicab rate recommendations <br />should be made by a committee of the Council. <br /> <br />Mrs., . Beal move~ seco~p.ed by Mr:. Williams to adopt the resolution. Rollcall vote. All <br />councilmen present voting aye, except Mr. McDonald voting no, motion carried. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2152 - Transmitting to P+?Dning Commission for hearing qn March 13, 1973 <br />various rezoning requests, was submitted. <br /> <br />Mrs. Beal roved seconded by Mr. Williams to adopt the resolution. Rollcall vote. All <br />councilmen pres,ent. voting aye, motion :carr~ed. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2153 -:- Authorizing payment of bills and claims for perio.d February 12 <br />through Fepruary 26, 1972 was. submitted. <br /> <br />Councilman Hershner asked about the payment of $1,000 to the Center for Environmental Research <br />for the South Hills density study and the $1,000 payment to each of three people for back <br />wage settlement. Plann~ng Director said that a contract was entered into with the State Board <br />of Higher Education to provide pro:fe.ssional services through the Center for evaluations in the <br />South Hills area - soils, climatic conditions, and other scientific type data. Manager con- <br />firmed tpat t~e payments for back wage ,settlements were to other jail personnel .and similar to <br />the claim on which a suit was filed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr., Williams to adopt the resolution. Rollcall vote.
