- e e M I NUT E S Eugene City Council City Council Chamber January 8, 1986 Noon COUNCILORS PRESENT: Cynthia Wooten, Richard Hansen, Emily Schue, Freeman Holmer, Ruth Bascom, Debra Ehrman, Roger Rutan, Jeff Mill ere The adjourned meeting from January 6, 1985, of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was called to order by Council President Cynthia Wooten in the absence of His Honor Mayor Brian B. Obie. I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, CITY MANAGER, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS A. Community Substance Abuse Conference Councilor Ehrman said she attended a meeting of the Community Schools Coordi- nating Council. She learned that 4-J School District representatives are arranging a Community Substance Abuse Conference to be held in February. She will supply the council with more information about the conference later. B. 6th/7th Avenues Extension Councilor Rutan asked the staff to report to the council when important progress is made in the 6th/7th avenues extension process. C. Human Rights Commissions Councilor Wooten said she and Councilor Hansen enjoyed the interviews in December with applicants for the Human Rights Commissions. They decided to propose that the council schedule a once-a-month presentation by the chairer of one of the City's boards and commissions. The presentations would inform the council of the board's or commission's activities. Councilor Schue said she and Councilor Holmer had discussed the same thing. The other councilors agreed with Ms. Wooten's suggestion. D. January 13, 1986 Meeting Ms. Wooten postponed consideration of the Mayor's nominations to the Eugene/ Springfield Metropolitan Partnership to Monday, January 13, 1986.
