<br />Roll call vote on the original motion; the motion <br />carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />~ Council Bill 2877 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved, seconded by Ms. Ehrman, that the <br />bill be approved and given final passage. Roll call vote; <br />the motion carried 6:2 with Councilors Ehrman, Schue, <br />Wooten, Miller, Rutan, and Bascom voting aye and <br />Councilors Hansen and Holmer voting nay. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved, seconded by Mr. Holmer, to direct <br />the staff to report to the council about possible <br />regulations for signs with blinking lights. The motion <br />carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />IV. CREATION OF CRIME ACTION TASK TEAM (memo distributed) <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten said the task team will consider the recommendations of the <br />Crime Solutions in Action Symposium held on May 14, 1986. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen, to approve <br />the creation of a Crime Action Task Force with the <br />missions and goals stated in the June 11, 1986, <br />memo to the Mayor and City Councilors from Cynthia <br />Wooten entitled "Crime Action Task Force." <br />Ms. Ehrman suggested the task team review the report of the Vagrancy Task <br />Force. <br /> <br />Answering a question from Mr. Rutan, Ms. Wooten said Marge Beck, Christine <br />Donahue, and Tim McCarthy will staff the task team. She said there will <br />be no major expenses for the task team, but budget appropriations may be <br />needed to implement its recommendations. <br /> <br />Mr. Gl eason added that the present budget i ncl udes funds for crime <br />prevention. <br /> <br />Responding to a question from Mayor Obie, Ms. Wooten said applications for <br />the task force were publicly solicited. Ms. Beck said about 15 <br />applications were received. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />V.
