Roll ca 11 vote. <br /> The motion carried unanimously, 7:0. <br /> V. WORK SESSION: URBAN RENEWAL PLAN UPDATE <br /> Mr. Gleason introduced the item. Eugene Development Department Director Abe <br /> Farkas gave the staff report. He said this was the second part of a work <br /> session on the updated Urban Renewal Plan in preparation for the upcoming <br /> public hearing on July 13. At its June 24 meeting, the council discussed the <br /> following topics: expansion of the Urban Renewal District; development <br /> projects and financial issues; and siting of the future downtown transit <br /> station and library. At that meeting, the council agreed to defer discussion <br /> of the redesign of the public plaza and Willamette Street from 8th to 10th <br /> avenues until its meeting on July 8. He said he would summarize the recent <br /> recommendations by the Downtown and Planning commissions. He said this would <br /> be followed by a presentation by Don Miles, during which Mr. Miles would <br /> review the Eugene Downtown Public Spaces Study, discuss his research on how <br /> people use the mall, and explain his recommendations for the treatment of <br /> Willamette Street and the Willamette/Broadway plaza. Mr. Farkas said Mr. <br /> Miles has given similar presentations to the Downtown and Planning <br /> commissions.
