2005 Legislative Session IGR Commitee Bill Approval May 23, 2005 <br /> <br /> Proposes amendment to Oregon Constitution to prohibit paying or receiving compensation <br /> based on number of signatures obtained for purposes of registering persons to vote. Refers <br /> H JR 0012 3 Oppose proposed amendment to people for their approval or rejection at next regular general election. 4/07 <br /> Proposes amendment to Oregon Constitution to require Legislative Assembly to appropriate <br /> sum of money sufficient to ensure that state's system of public education meets quality goals. <br /> Allows Legislative Assembly to appropriate sum of money not sufficient to meet quality goals if <br /> approved by majority of each house. Refers proposed amendment to people for their approval <br /> H JR 0028 3 Support or rejection at special election held on same date as next primary election. 4/21 <br /> Proposes amendment to Oregon Constitution specifying that Legislative Assembly, or people <br /> through initiative process, may enact laws limiting or prohibiting certain contributions made to <br /> candidates for public office. Refers proposed amendment to people for their approval or <br /> H JR 0038 3 Neutral rejection at special election held on same date as next primary election. 4/28 <br /> Proposes amendment to Oregon Constitution establishing commission to create legislative <br /> redistricting plan following each decennial census. Refers proposed amendment to people for <br /> H JR 0039 3 Oppose their approval or rejection at next regular general election. 4/28 <br /> Proposes amendment to Oregon Constitution to allow people through initiative process, or <br /> Legislative Assembly by three-fourths vote of both Houses, to enact and amend laws to prohibit <br /> or limit contributions and expenditures to influence outcome of any election. Refers proposed <br /> H JR 0044 3 Neutral amendment to people for their approval or rejection at next regular general election. 4/28 <br /> Requests that Congress enact legislation to protect firearms and ammunition manufacturers, <br /> HM 0003 3 Oppose distributors, dealers and importers from abusive and ill~conceived tort actions. 4/14 <br /> Directs State Department of Geology and Mineral Industries to develop statewide seismic <br /> needs assessment. Specifies scope of assessment. Sunsets January 2, 2008. Declares <br /> SB 0002 3 Monitor emergency, effective on passage. 3/24 <br /> Requires Director of Office of Emergency Management to develop grant program for seismic <br /> rehabilitation of certain critical public buildings. Directs creation of grant committee. Specifies <br /> membership of committee. Allows Seismic Safety Policy Advisory Commission and State <br /> Department of Geology and Mineral Industries to participate in grant program. Declares <br /> SB 0003 3 Monitor emergency, effective on passage. 3/17 <br /> Prohibits school administrators, teachers, employees and volunteers from promoting, <br /> suggesting or supplying performance-enhancing supplements to students. Provides exceptions <br /> for administrators, teachers, employees and volunteers treating own children and for certain <br /> nonschool-related activities. Punishes violation by maximum imprisonment of three months, <br /> SB 0006 3 Support $500 fine, or both. Declares emergency, effective on passage. 3/17 <br /> <br /> 51 <br /> <br /> <br />
