RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE URBAN <br />RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF EUGENE FOR THE YEAR ENDING <br />JUNE 30, 1987 <br /> <br />City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the item. <br /> <br />Res, No. 932--A resolution adopting the financial statements <br />for the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of <br />Eugene for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1987 <br /> <br />Mr. Holmer moved, seconded by Ms. Ehrman, to adopt the <br />resolution. Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, <br />8:0. <br /> <br />Mayor Obie adjourned the meeting of the Eugene Renewal Agency and recovened <br />the meeting of the Eugene City Council. <br /> <br />. . <br />\:\.,,\:. X 1. HAYWARD FI E LD I NTERGOVERNMENT AL AGREEMENT <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the item. Mr. Rutan gave a brief report. <br />He said the City needs an intergovernmental agreement that provides the basic <br />terms for investing City money in the University of Oregon's project. He said <br />it is important that the agreement allow the council to keep in good faith <br />with its constituents and the local hotel and motel owners by ensuring that <br />the project accomplishes what it set out to do. <br /> <br />Mr. Rutan highlighted the duties of the University that state it will be <br />responsible for construction and maintenance of the project. Mr. Rutan noted <br />that the City and general public will have access to the running track. He <br />said the University changed its traditional stance and is allowing stadium <br />advertising for special events. The Cities of Springfield and Eugene and Lane <br />County will have free use of the facility five days each year. Mr. Rutan <br />pointed out that both cities and Lane County have the opportunity to review <br />the final bids and construction plan before the bids are let. <br /> <br />Mr. Rutan said Dave Whitlow, Assistant City Manager, should be commended for <br />his work in drafting the agreement. <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten asked what has happened to a suggestion to earmark some funds for <br />marketing the facility. Mr. Rutan said there are no marketing funds currently <br />set aside. He said marketing dollars and money for resurfacing the track are <br />items he still intends to work on_ <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten said she is concerned about the lack of marketing funds.
