ORDINANCE CONCERNING AN INTERIM SIGN CODE <br /> City Manager Mike Gleason introduced the item. <br /> In response to a question from Ms. Wooten, Terry Smith, Public Works <br /> Department, said the interim ordinance does allow for billboards on limited <br /> access freeways. <br /> Mr. Rutan affirmed that the interim ordinance reflects the consensus of the <br /> council on each of the five issues. <br /> Mr. Miller said the council received a note from some realtors concerned over <br /> the impact of changes in the interim ordinance. Mr. Smith said the interim <br /> ordinance does not pose a problem for realty signs. <br /> Ms. Ehrman said she will be voting in favor of the ordinance, although she <br /> said she has reservations about billboards. <br /> CB 3056--An ordinance concerning the Sign Code; amending <br /> Sections 8.615, 8.620, 8.625, 8.630, 8.635, 8.640, <br /> 8.645, 8.650, 8.655, 8.656, 8.670, 8.690, 8.695, <br /> 8.700, 8.710, 8.720, 8.725, 8.756, and 8.795 of the <br /> Eugene Code, 1971; repealing Sections 8.660, 8.665, <br /> 8.671, 8.672, 8.705, 8.785, and 8.790 of that code; <br /> and declaring an emergency. <br />e Ms. Bascom moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that the bill, with <br /> unanimous consent of the council, be read the second time by <br /> council bill number only, and that enactment be considered at <br /> this time. Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, <br /> 8:0. <br /> Council Bill 3056 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> Ms. Bascom moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that the bill be <br /> approved and given final passage.
