M
Interested Applicants
InterestedApplicants
9/26/2017 1:36:51 PM
Personal Interest Contribution
I entered the profession of architecture because I
believed that our built environment could have a
significant and positive impact on society. Our built
environment also has a significant impact on the urban
and natural environments in which we place our
constructions. For this reason my professional practice
has focused on public buildings. Their design and their
placement are critical for the well being of our community
and our environment.
No Suoolemental Answers
The City of Eugene was located at the highest navigatable
point of Willamette River. The early settlers recognized the
importance of the river but in many respects we have
turned our back on the river. I am very interested in
exploring how best to recognize and take advantage of this
wonderful resource. So when members of the AIA local
affairs committee asked me to apply for this position as a
representative of the architectural community i agreed to
apply. I have lived and worked in or around Eugene since
1982 and although I currently live just outside the UGB I
still own a house in town (occupied by my son) and have a
real interest in helping to maintain the vitality and character
of Eugene. I believe that my architectural experience, my
interest in the natural and built environments and my
previous experience with the EWEB site are all assets that I
could bring to this committee.
Page 42 of 112 y C7
