Understanding the effects of air quality as a
direct relation to climate change is crucial. I have been
an advocate for green technologies that affect our daily
life, and ultimately our air quality, in my household and
around our communities. My family is very important to
me. I want my children to know that volunteer service is
part of living happily in a connected community. I enjoy
mountain biking on the nearly 400 miles of trails here in
Lane County, road biking, and researching energy
efficient transportation and emerging technologies like
those engineered by Tesla and Eugene's own Arcimoto.
like that these pioneering companies are contributing to
the American economy by creating new jobs for
American workers with cutting edge technology.
No Suoolemental Answers
---Continuation. To Personal Experience
My family immigrated to the United States in the early
2000s so my brothers and I could enhance our life
experience via education in the United States. In
Engineering School at Temple University I discovered my
passion for sustainability as both an art -form and a
science. When I was hired at Balzhiser and Hubbard
Engineering in 2007, one of my responsibilities to our
design teams was to create sustainable energy models for
new and existing buildings in Eugene and surrounding
areas. The recent attention to how the unique and special
environment we inhabit here in Oregon is changing due to
wildfires ignited my interest in public service to our shared
community. Familiarizing myself with your service -based
organization showed me that I can work to make a valuable
contribution to our community. ---
With the recent wild fires in Oregon, I have experienced a
very bad air quality first hand. As a father caring about the
air our community's children breathe (including my own
son and daughter) and my technical background, I decided
to do more. Believing in LRAPA's mission and the ability to
make a difference locally, I wanted to use this opportunity
to get involved and contribute and strengthen your
priorities by using my personal and technical skills.
Thank you for your consideration.
Page 46 of 112 y C7
