<br />',e. <br /> <br />e, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />felt it was important to develop the collective thought of the community through <br />the work of the BAT and to prevent splintering of the BAT's efforts byeliminat- <br />ing any possible focus on the concerns of special interest groups. <br /> <br />Councilor Lindberg noted that on the "human side" of economic development, the <br />City's Information Center is working with Switchboard in an effort to refer <br />citizens as smoothly as possible to the most appropriate organization where they <br />might receive assistance. <br /> <br />XI. CITY-COUNTY TAX BASE ELECTION (resolution distributed) <br /> <br />Mr. Gleason introduced Mr. Long, Staff Services Director. Mr. Long referred to <br />materials that had been distributed, containing the report of the task force <br />which had worked on this issue, as well as figures, in 1982 dollars, outlining <br />the dollar benefit of the agreement to the City. Mr. Long emphasized that this <br />was a three-year agreement and that a negotiation process had been developed for <br />triennial reconsiderations. He noted that the Lane County Commissioners were <br />still in the process of discussing the agreement and that Councilor Miller had <br />been attending the commission meetings. Ms. Miller said it appeared that the <br />commissioners had a number of concerns regarding the agreement.
