Downtown Commercial and Housing Rehabilitation Loan Programs
Mayor Keller said goal 2 of the City's economic diversification program is and
has been core area redevelopment including central housing rehabilitation and
core area commercial revitalization. Dollars to implement the two parts of this
goal exist through the City's annual budgeting of the Community Development
Block Grant and from HUD in the early financial statement made by HUD in 1976 to
the City to complete the c~ntral Eugene project. Since these funds are limited,
$200,000 and $700,000 respectively, the key point in making the program effective
has been the additional private dollars leveraged into these program.
