Traffic diverters located on Potter Street, 5th Avenue, <br />e Onyx Street, 26th Avenue, and 25th Avenue (memo, administrative <br /> order, background information distributed) <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, to call a public hearing <br /> for September 27, 1982, to consider traffic diverters located on <br /> Potter Street, 5th Avenue, Onyx Street, 26th Avenue, and 25th <br /> Avenue. <br /> Ms. Wooten said that she had been told that the hearing on tne 5th Avenue <br /> diverter would be held on September 13. She said that the newsletter of the <br /> Whiteaker neighborhood group had also reported that date. Councilor Wooten said <br /> that she would support the motion but requested that pUblic notification of the <br /> change in date be made. Mr. Whitlow said that staff would give special attention <br /> to publicizing the change in date and that if the new date could not receive <br /> adequate publicity, the item would be postponed until such time as adequate <br /> publicity could be provided. <br /> Councilor Hamel said he would oppose the motion due to his longstanding belief <br /> that traffic diverters were not a solution to traffic problems. <br /> Roll call vote. Motion carried 6:1, with Councilors Ball, Miller, <br /> Obie, Schue, Smith, and Wooten voting in favor, and Councilor <br /> Hamel voting in opposition. <br /> III. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />e A. Street Vacation Located between South Shasta Loop and Sweetbriar Lane <br /> (Dennis Hartley) (SV 82-1) (map, background distributed) <br /> Recommended approval by Planning Commission June 7, 1982 Vote--6:0 <br /> Mr. Whitlow said that staff was available to respond to questions. <br /> Public hearing was opened. <br /> There being no public testimony, public hearing was closed. <br /> CB 2514--An ordinance authorizing vacation of a 20-foot-wide <br /> public street easement located between South Shasta Loop <br /> and Sweetbriar Lane. <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that the bill be read the <br /> second time by council bill number only, with unanimous consent of <br /> the council, and that enactment be considered at this time. Roll <br /> call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> Council Bill 2514 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, that the bill be approved <br /> and given final passage.
