<br />e <br /> <br />Councilor Hansen asked whether if the amendment were passed and the council <br />revi ewed the ATO matter and decided not to all ocate the funds, those funds waul d <br />be lost. Mr. Byrne responded that the funds could be used for other rehabilita- <br />tion by amending the grant and sending that amendment to HUD. He did not feel <br />the funds would be jeopardized. <br /> <br />Councilor Schue asked what the current demands were for rehabilitation funds. <br />Mr. Byrne said that there was considerable demand for the funds. He noted that <br />the progrilTl was in a state of transition, due to the current difficulty in <br />leveraging funds, from a leveraged progr1lTl to a direct loan progrilTl, which would <br />easily use all the funds allocated for rehabilitation. <br /> <br />Councilor Lindberg said that the City would receive $700,000 in CDBG funds for <br />the purpose of job creation, which he fel t coul d be used to rep1 ace the Economic <br />Development Opportunity funds. <br /> <br />A vote was taken on the motion to iITlend. Roll call vote; motion <br />carried 4:3, with Councilors Hansen, Holmer, Obie, and Smith <br />voting in favor, and Councilors Ball, Lindberg, and Schue voting <br />in opposition. <br /> <br />A vote was taken on the motion as amended.
