Abatement of Property Located at 2285 West 11th Avenue (memo, posting,
resolution, citizen letter, additional information distributed)
Mr. Gleason introduced Larry Reed, Assistant Superintendent of Building Inspec-
tion. Mr. Reed noted that the subject property was located just behind the Les
Schwab tire store on West 11th Avenue. He said construction on the building was
started in 1973 but never completed. He said that the building had been main-
tained between 1973 and 1976, but that in 1977 and again in 1981 the building
- had been left open and abandoned and had been declared unsafe by the City.
Mr. Reed noted that on both occasions corrective measures (i.e., building
boarded up) had been taken by the property owner prior to council consideration
of abatement proceedings.
MINUTES--Eugene City Council June 13, 1983 Page 11
