<br />~; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />M I NUT E S <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br /> <br />Special Meeting <br /> <br />5:00 p.m. <br />January 28, 1985 <br />McNutt Room - City Hall I <br /> <br />INTERVIEWS AND BALLOTING FOR DOWNTOWN COMMISSION <br /> <br />PRESENT: Council President Cynthia Wooten (presiding)~ Ruth Bascom, Debra <br />Ehrman, Dick Hansen, Freeman Holmer, Jeff Miller, Roger Rutan; <br />Elaine Stewart, Eugene Development Department staff. <br /> <br />The following people were" interviewed: <br /> <br />5:05 p.m. <br />5:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Nancy Willard <br />Mary Young <br /> <br />The candidates were asked to respond to questions which had been distributed <br />earlier, and additional follow-up questions from individual councilors. <br />The prepared questions appear on the meeting agenda attached to these minutes. <br /> <br />Emily Schue arrived but did not participate in the process. <br /> <br />Following the interviews, councilors discussed the composition of the commission, <br />requirements of the position, and skills and experience of the candidates in <br />relation to the appointment. <br /> <br />Following that discussion, each councilor cast a written ballot. The results <br />of that ballot were as follows: <br /> <br />Mary Young - 6 votes (Councilors Wooten, Hansen, Holmer, Miller, <br />Bascom, and Rutan) <br /> <br />Nancy Willard - one vote (Councilor Ehrman) <br /> <br />By concensus, the Council agreed to appoint Mary Young, 1732 West 27th Place, <br />Eugene 97405, to the Downtown Commission with a term to expire 12/30/86. <br /> <br />INTERVIEWS AND BALLOTING FOR METROPOLITAN PARTNERSHIP <br /> <br />PRESENT: Emily Schue, Ruth Bascom', Debra Ehrman, Richard Hansen, Freeman Holmer, <br />Jeff Miller, Cynthia Wooten, Roger Rutan, Douglas Eveleth (staff). <br /> <br />The following people were interviewed: <br /> <br />5:30 p.m. <br />5:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Sandra Arp <br />Bruce Anderson <br />
