<br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE MAYOR'S RECOMMENDATION <br />FOR CREATION OF A TREE AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds as follows: <br /> <br />1. For many years citizens of Eugene have had an interest <br /> <br />in planting and maintaining trees in this community. <br /> <br />2. In August, 1984, Councilor Ruth Bascom proposed <br /> <br />the creation of a committee to facilitate the planting and <br /> <br />maintenance of trees in the City of Eugene. <br /> <br />3. In January, 1985, Mayor Brian Obie proposed a Eugene <br /> <br />Agenda. A component of the Eugene Agenda is the creation <br /> <br />of an entrance beautification program and policies for planting <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />and maintaining Eugenels street trees. <br /> <br />4.- Subsequently, Mayor Obie has proposed the creatio~ <br /> <br />of a Tree and Beautification Commission. <br /> <br />Now, therefore, based on the above findings, <br /> <br />IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> <br />OF EUGENE, a Municipal Corporation of the State of Oregon, <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council accepts the recommendation <br /> <br />of the Mayor for the creation of the Mayor's Tree and Beautification <br /> <br />Commission. <br /> <br />The foregoing Resolution adopted this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />March, 1985. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />City Recorder <br />
