<br /> <, <br /> . <br /> REVISIONS and ERRATA <br /> - Listed below are changes recommended to the April draft Culture/Leisure Plan <br /> by the Council Subcommittee formed June 24, 1985. Changes are shown in <br /> legislative format, with additions in bold and deletions [bracketed]. <br /> Portions of the draft plan not listed here remain the same as the April 1985 <br /> draft. <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> I. Page 1-3. Add a new section entitled PLAN IMPLEMENTATION emphasizing the <br /> City's role in implementing the plan and financial constraints. Section <br /> to read: <br /> PLAN IMPLEMENTATION <br /> The Culture/Leisure Plan is a long-range planning document designed to <br /> provide guidelines for City decisions concerning culture/leisure <br /> activities. Implementation of the Plan will occur over the years through <br /> both public and private actions. Commitment of City financial resources <br /> to specific activities occurs through annual budget processes. It is <br /> designed as a catalyst to create community interest and partnerships. <br /> The City is expected to use the plan in: <br /> a. designing City culture and leisure programs and services; <br /> b. reviewing other plans and policies that impact the City's role as a <br /> e culture/leisure center; <br /> c. reviewing the City's Capital Improvement Program; and <br /> d. determining City response to privately initiated cultural or leisure <br /> activities. <br /> Others are expected to use the document to: <br /> a. understand the City's commitment to culture and leisure and <br /> recognize their role in economic development; and <br /> b. design projects and activities so that they foster the unique <br /> attributes of Eugene as an attractive place to live and work and as <br /> a culture/leisure center. <br /> r <br /> A City staff task team will monitor Plan imp lementation and prepare <br /> annual reports to the City Council. <br /> II. GOAL AND POLICIES <br /> I. Page II-I. Amend Policy 1 to clarify the City's role in public/private <br /> partnerships. Amend Policy 1 to read: <br /> I. Subject to budgetary processes [I]initiate and engage in <br /> public/private partnerships [to] for: 1) fi nanc[eJing <br /> culture/leisure activities[; 2)] and developing and manag[e]ing <br /> e facilities[;] and programs. [3) provide technical services.] <br />
