Potential The major impact of the aging of the baby boomers on demand for new <br />effect on housing will be through demand for housing types specific to seniors, such <br />housing as assisted living facilities. Baby boomers will make a range of housing choices <br />demand in Eugene: <br />• Many will choose to remain in their houses as long as they are able. <br />• As their health fails, some will choose to move to group housing, such as <br />assisted living facilities or nursing homes. <br />• Some may downsize to smaller single-family homes (detached and attached) or <br />multi -family units.
