<br /> f I <br /> . <br /> , <br /> M E M 0 RAN DUM e <br />November 8, 1985 <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Eugene Development Department <br />SUBJECT: DOWNTOWN COMMISSION ORDINANCE AMENDMENT <br />Council at the October 28 meeting directed the City Attorney's Office to <br />draft an amendment to the Downtown Commission ordinance to address direct <br />pecuniary interest. The commission is composed of 9 members. At least <br />six members must be employed or have some other direct pecuniary interest <br />within the Downtown Commission boundary. The amendment adds to conditions <br />of vacancy loss of the pecuniary interest qualification. The City Council <br />would re-appoint for the unexpired term of a commissioner who lost their <br />qualification. A second amendment alters the six-three composition of the <br />commission to five-four, with five members with pecuniary interest, during <br />terms of office through 1986. <br />The council should approve ordinance amendment concerning the Downtown <br />Commission. <br /> - <br /> - <br />
