ORDINANCE AMENDING TELECOMMUNICATIONS FRANCHISE

Mr. Wong noted that this item was brought to the council for a first reading
on May 14, 1990. The ordinance would amend the City's franchise with US West
to reflect the impact of HB3000, which established a uniform base for
municipal charges for street use by telecommunications utilities. Unless the
City amends its franchise agreement to increase the rate, the General Fund
will lose revenue when the new revenue definition becomes effective July 1.

e

MINUTES--Eugene City Council

June 11, 1990

Page 11
