RESOLUTION REGARDING A SPECIAL ELECTION RELATED TO A PUBLIC VOTE ON THE DOWNTOWN Warren Wong, Administrative Services Director, gave the staff report. He explained that this is a resolution calling a special election to submit to the voters of the city an amendment to the Eugene City Charter that requires a public vote to authorize additional vehicles on the downtown mall. The signatures were turned in and verified by the City Recorder's Office. If the council decides not to take action on this measure, it will go to the May 1992 primary election.
