-

e

e

--

Mr. Nicholson said that while there were many goals he would like to add to
the council's work program for 1991, he realized it would not be practical to
recraft the goals at this point in the year.

Ms. Ehrman said the goals had reflected council consensus when they were
selected. She said it was important that the goals continue to have the
support of the whole group.

Mr. Nicholson said his preference would be to wait on the council goal for
downtown redesign until he had more information on this issue.

Mayor Miller said that generally when the council lost on any given issue it
was because it had proceeded too quickly.

Ms. Bascom said that when an issue required community support it was impor-
tant to have council consensus. However, she said some critical issues had
been resolved in the past by an almost evenly divided council vote.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.

(Recorded by Kris Sloch)
mncc: 5: 30 021191

~~~~1
MINUTES--Eugene City Council
February 11, 1991
Page 7
