PUBLIC HEARING: EUGENE COMMERCIAL LANDS STUDY <br /> <br />Mr. Boles called the Eugene City Council to order. Ms. Dumdi called the Lane <br />County Board of Commissioners to order. <br /> <br />Mr. Boles opened the joint public hearing. <br /> <br />A. Staff Introduction <br /> <br />Teresa Bishow, of the Eugene Planning and Development Department, said that <br />the Draft Eugene Commercial lands Study has been recommended for approval by <br />the lane County and Eugene planning commissions. She presented the following <br />staff responses to issues raised at work sessions. <br /> <br />Regarding allowing 15 acres of additional neighborhood commercial land in the <br />south Eugene area, Ms. Bishow said that staff has provided three options for <br />consideration: 1) to retain the allowance of adding up to 15 acres of neigh- <br />borhood commercial land; 2) to reduce the amount of new neighborhood commer- <br />cial land allowed to 5 acres; or 3) to consider downtown the service area for <br />south Eugene and only allow additional neighborhood commercial land if done <br />in conjunction with new medium-density residential development. <br /> <br />MINUTES--Joint Elected Officials <br /> <br />April 8, 1992 <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />
