US Bank Official RecoQnition <br />e <br /> Ms. Bascom circulated a draft letter from the Housing Policy Board officially <br /> recognizing US Bank for its participation in the Community Reinvestment Act <br /> (eRA) requirements. The bank will be publicly thanked at the council's <br /> meeting on September 23. <br /> F. American Institute of Architects <br /> Ms. Bascom announced the American Institute of Architects Forum in Portland <br /> September 11-13. She said that eight representatives from Eugene-Springfield, <br /> including Springfield Mayor Bill Morrisette and Eugene staff member, Lana <br /> Lindstrom, will attend. <br /> G. First Annual Festival of American Music <br /> Ms. Bascom reported on the First Annual Festival of American Music held in <br /> Alton Baker Park's Cuthbert Amphitheatre. <br /> H. Alton Baker Park <br /> Ms. Bascom said she requested the three sequential plans for Alton Baker Park <br /> and noted that the latest revision allows for playing fields. She said she <br /> will introduce an amendment to the plan in the near future to delete golf <br /> courses. <br />e I. NEDCO FundinQ Request <br /> Ms. Bascom said that Item II has been deleted from the agenda, as further <br /> staff work is necessary. <br /> J. National Environmental Law Clinic <br /> Mr. MacDonald circulated a letter from the National Environmental Law Clinic <br /> regarding global warming and asked councilors to sign it individually. <br /> K. Municipal Leaders Conference <br /> Mr. MacDonald said he has been invited to participate in a conference of <br /> municipal leaders from Oregon to talk about what makes livable communities; <br /> what is the vision that the cities in the State can develop, express, and use <br /> as a proactive basis for strategy to be used in the next legislative session. <br /> He asked councilors to communicate any concerns, issues, or ideas to take to <br /> the conference by 4:30 p.m. <br /> l. Tax Burden Sharing <br /> Mr. Nicholson expressed interest in discussing the issue of gaining revenue <br /> from areas outside the city which make use of City resources, saying those <br /> communities should share the tax burden. <br />e <br /> MINUTES--Eugene City Council September 9, 1992 Page 2 <br /> 11 :30 a.m. <br />
