<br />Public hearing was closed with no further testimony being presented. <br /> <br />Mr. Haws moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel to approve and forward the liquor <br />license to the local OLCC office. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />L. Bids: Parks and Recreation--Harris Elementary School Irrigation Project <br /> <br />Manager indicated that the bids for the Harris Elementary School Irriga- <br />tion project had been opened by the Parks and Recreation Department <br />January 20, 1977, and that Council had a list before them of the various <br />firms and bid amounts and recommended that Fairway Irrigation, the lowest <br />bidding company be awarded the contract. <br /> <br />Ed Smith, Director of Parks and Recreation, indicated that Council should <br />note there were eight bidders on this project in the past where there had <br />been only two, and that the costs were going down because of the very <br />competitive nature of the bidding. <br /> <br />Public hearing was held with no testimony presented. <br /> <br />Mr. Haws moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel to award the contract for the <br />Harris Elementary School Irrigation project to Fairway Irrigation for a <br />total of $5, 934.00. Appointments, Budget Committee-~r. Bradley asked that the <br />Council approve his appointment of Rosalie Lemert to the Budget <br />Committee from Ward 1; he also recommended that an alternate be <br />appointed, but it was Council consensus to wait until vacancies' <br />occur before considering replacements, rather than having <br />alternates available. <br /> <br />Mr. Haws moved seconded by Mr. Hamel to appoint Rosalie <br />Lemert to the Budget Committee from Ward 1 for a term <br />ending December 31, 1971. Bradley reported on a <br />recent meeting of the Tri-Agency Animal Control Authority at <br />which a discussion was held concerning the feasibility of' sponsor- <br />ing a spaying or neutering program.
