Mr. Hamel moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to adopt the Findings
of Fact. Motion carried unanimously.
B. Atwood Minor Partition Appeal, Sandy Drive (M 78-39) -
Mr. Hamel moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to adopt the Findings
of Fact. Motion carried unanimously.
V. Resolutions
Res. No. 2953--Authorizing payment of bills, claims, and progress pay-
ments for period June 26 through July 10, 1978, was read
by number and title.
Mr. Hamel moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to adopt the resolution.
Roll call vote. Motion carried unanimously.
VI. Approval of Minutes
Mr. Hamel moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to approve Council
minutes June 26, 1978. Roll call vote. Motion carried
unanimously.
VII. Civic Center
Mayor Keller said Council should discuss the extent of their involvement e
in the many phases of the Civic Center project over the next few months.
He said in reading the minutes of the last Commission meeting, it appeared
there was some disagreement about selection of the prime architect. He
felt it would behoove Council to exercise a leadership role and perhaps
should discuss the issue at Wednesday's meeting, July 12.
City Manager noted a request had come through Mr. Williams that Mr. Obie
wished this item to be deferred to July 19, as we would be unable to
attend the July 12 meeting. Mr. Obie very much wished to be at the
meeting for the discussion.
Mr. Lieuallen noted Council should also consider the process, and the
transition from the Civic Center Commission to the actual administration
and building of this facility. Also, it has to deal with the process of
selection of an architect. Feedback from the community had indicated to
him that there is a desire for more open discussion in this process.
Mr. Williams said the request from Mr. Obie was very strong. He very
much wanted to be a participant in the discussion and, since he is a
member of the Commission, Mr. Williams felt Council should honor Mr.
Obie's request.
e
7/11/78--6
*~O
I
