Shortening <br /> the time is really political compromise, he said. Mayor Keller <br /> pointed to an earlier instance several years ago where Council <br /> rushed headlong into a six-month moratorium on the Goodpasture Island <br /> matter and, because of the complexity, the moratorium lasted a year or <br /> longer. City Attorney Stan Long said the six-month period would be <br /> the maximum recommended period. If the deadline is shortened, Council <br /> must recognize that it will be displacing some other work. <br /> Vote was taken on the motion which failed, Ms. Smith, Mr. Haws, <br /> and Mr. Obie voting aye, and Mr. Haws, Mr. Delay, Mr. Lieuallen, <br /> Ms. Schue, and Ms. Miller voting no. <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Mr. Lieuallen, to change the word <br /> lIandll to lIorll at the end of Section 2(a) on page 12. <br />e <br /> 11/26/79--9 <br /> ~30 <br />
