Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously.

Res. No. 3324--A resolution repealing Resolution Nos. 2302, 2439, 2443,
2489, and 3200, establishing fees in connection with the
administration of the Structural Specialty Code of the
City of Eugene, Oregon; and providing an effective date.

Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Lieuallen, to adopt the resolu-
tion. Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously.

e

Mr. Lieuallen noted that there have been two pieces of correspondence
relating to this matter. Both seem to question whether efforts are
being duplicated in inspections. He agreed that we should not dupli-
cate efforts nor do things that are unnecessary.

Ms. Smith asked for a staff comment regarding the letter from John
Boyer, from the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc.

Mick Nolte, Superintendent of Building Inspection, stated that the two
main issues in Mr. Boyer's letter seemed to be nitpicking as far as
code enforcement is concerned, and delays. He further stated they
had met with the association and are working on streamlining the
inspection process and removing delays. He further stated they would
meet with the industry representatives again. He feels this is
productive and should be done once or twice a year.

Ms. Smith noted her main concern is that there be follow-up on this
matter.

e

3/5/80--4
