W. Hamel, Gretchen Miller, and Emily Schue.
Councilor Jack Delay was absent.
I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS
A. Appointments--Mr. Hamel stated that he would like to nominate Michael
J. Hartwig, 2260 Elysium, to replace Jack Pyle on the Eugene Budget
Committee.
Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Lieuallen, to appoint Michael J.
Hartwig to fill the unexpired term of Jack Pyle on the Eugene
Budget Committee ending December 31, 1981. Roll call vote; motion
carried unanimously.
-- B. Boundary Commission--Ms. Miller stated that a letter was received
from Sally Weston regarding contributions to the Boundary Commission
and asked for a status report. Mr. Henry stated that nothing has
happened on this item yet. He feels the City should check with the
County to see what they are going to do. Eighty percent funding was
received. Ms. Mille~ stated that it sounds reasonable to ask other
jurisdictions to see if they are still interested in contributing to
the Boundary Commission funding and how much of the budget will be
raised through filing fees.
Mr. Lieuallen noted that in the last paragraph, it is stated that the
commission has appointed an advisory commission, and he is concerned
that no one from Eugene was appointed. Mr. Henry indicated that he
would check on this and a report will be brought back.
C. Metropolitan Plan Update--Ms. Miller stated that she and Mayor Keller
need direction for the 7 a.m., September 25, Elected Officials Coordi-
nating Committee meeting, which will discuss proposals for further
study of industrial land. It is not clear what the County will do,
but she is under the impression that they want to have the study done
before approving the urban growth boundary. The results of the
Springfield Council work session indicate that they favor approval of
e
9/24/80--1
