Bailey Hill Road and Westleigh; applicant: John <br /> Reiche, Assistant Secretary, The Southland Corporation <br /> Mr. Henry stated that staff recommends approval. The Churchill Neighborhood <br /> Association objects, although no letter has been received from them. <br /> Public hearing was opened. <br /> Jonathan Bates, 3605 Kevington, president of the Churchill Neiqhborhood Asso- <br /> ciation, stated that they object to the liquor license as well as the placement <br /> of a 7-Eleven store at that location. This property is located directly across <br /> from the Valley West shopping center and would offer the same services, which <br /> would be duplication. It would also be directly across from Churchill High <br /> School. Valley West has had problems with loiterinq and harassment, as well as <br /> allegations of criminal activity. The neighborhood group thinks the 7-Eleven <br /> store is unnecessary and could aggravate present crime problems.
