Hamel, Mark Lindberg, Gretchen Miller, Emily Schue, Betty Smith, and Cynthia Wooten (11:40 to 11:50 a.m.) ABSENT: Councilors Eric Haws and Brian Obie, and Mayor Gus Keller. Adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was called to order by Her Honor Acting Mayor Gretchen Miller. I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR AND COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS A. Correspondence Mr. Hamel said that he had received a letter from Dunham Motors regarding that firm's sign. He turned the letter over to staff with a request that staff pursue the matter. B. Brunch with Lane County Legislative Delegation Ms. Smith reminded councilors of the council brunch with the Lane County Legis- lative Delegation at the Treehouse Restaurant, 10 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 1981. Ms. Smith said that there are still many important issues to come before the Legislature. C. Recreation and Tourism Brochure Ms. Smith said that she had attended a presentation on the Recreation and Tourism Brochure. Ms. Smith said that the Room Tax Committee will be reviewing the information in the document. In 1980, $160 million in direct income and 3500 jobs were directly related to the tourism industry. Councilors should keep in mind the economic development potential of tourism and the recommendations made in the report. D. Sewers Ms. Smith said that halfway through the construction of the sewage treatment plant, the rules regarding funding of the plant had been changed. She reported that the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission had discussed a number of avenues to follow to obtain the money that the commission feels should be allocated to the.
