"Guidelines for Locating Firms on Special Light Industrial Sites" <br /> <br />Mr. Gleason introduced Jim Farah, Assistant Planning Director. Mr. Farah said <br />that the guidelines before the council had been recommended by the Eugene <br />Economic Development Committee. He explained that the special light industrial <br />sites referred to are those designated by asterisks in the Metropolitan Area <br />General Plan. These guidelines were intended as companion material to the <br />economic development strategies adopted by the council in December 1980. He <br />said that the item comes to the council with the unanimous recommendation of the <br />Economic Development Committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Miller opened the public hearing. There being no testimony presented, the <br />public hearing was closed. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, to approve the "Guidelines <br />for Locating Firms on Special Light Industrial Sites" as recom- <br />mended by the Eugene Economic Development Committee. <br /> <br />Ms. Miller noted that the Economic Development Committee had spent a long time <br />developing the guidelines, with considerable discussion and redrafting of state- <br />ments, to produce a document with which all the diverse elements represented <br />on that committee could agree. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />MINUTES--Eugene City Council <br /> <br />May 20, 1981 <br /> <br />Page 8 <br />
