<br />Design: the diagonal pathway is in my opinion a $30 million albatross, that if <br />incorporated would become a community embarrassment. There are other less costly and <br />more effective ways of linking the City Hall to Willamette Street, Hult Center, and the <br />Hilton Hotel. <br />The greatest community benefit that I voted for is the Butterfly lot. But, I prefer the Sears <br />site overall. <br />Patrol in a separate building <br />Use and repair park block <br />Repair building next to City Hall (north) by building with simple form <br />Sustainable design <br />One thing that bothers me on the butterfly lot is putting something relatively dead <br />fronting Willamette Street; there should be retail or something else along that edge that <br />fosters more interaction <br />Sense of place: <br />o Eugene <br />o North Valley <br />o Oregon <br />While the council chamber is seen as circular and at floor level, I feel having an elevated <br />chamber to look at the Hult Center on a 3rd or 4th floor elevation would bring more <br />people to feel on top of public activity, rather than settle the positive and negative <br />situations as handled and dedicated to police management. <br /> <br />Other: if you concentrate all public offices in one place you run the risk of shutting down <br />the entire government should there be a fire, bomb threat, or contamination event. <br /> <br />Other -Sears site with no police functions on site. <br />
