Design: the diagonal pathway is in my opinion a $30 million albatross, that if
incorporated would become a community embarrassment. There are other less costly and
more effective ways of linking the City Hall to Willamette Street, Hult Center, and the
Hilton Hotel.
The greatest community benefit that I voted for is the Butterfly lot. But, I prefer the Sears
site overall.
Patrol in a separate building
Use and repair park block
Repair building next to City Hall (north) by building with simple form
Sustainable design
One thing that bothers me on the butterfly lot is putting something relatively dead
fronting Willamette Street; there should be retail or something else along that edge that
fosters more interaction
Sense of place:
o Eugene
o North Valley
o Oregon
While the council chamber is seen as circular and at floor level, I feel having an elevated
chamber to look at the Hult Center on a 3rd or 4th floor elevation would bring more
people to feel on top of public activity, rather than settle the positive and negative
situations as handled and dedicated to police management.

Other: if you concentrate all public offices in one place you run the risk of shutting down
the entire government should there be a fire, bomb threat, or contamination event.

Other -Sears site with no police functions on site.
