Roll call vote; the motion passed unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />Police Commission <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy commented that the candidates for the Police Commission had been “extraordinarily good.” <br />She noted that there would be five more openings in 2007 and expressed hope that the applicants who were <br />not appointed in this round would reapply. <br /> <br />Councilor Solomon, seconded by Councilor Ortiz, moved to reappoint John Ahlen to Posi- <br />tion 4 on the Police Commission for a four-year term beginning November 1, 2006, and <br />ending on October 31, 2010. <br /> <br />Councilor Ortiz wanted to underscore how well-qualified all of the applicants were.
