Rick <br />obtained his BS and JD degrees from the University of Oregon. <br /> <br />Carolyn Williams is a lifelong Eugene resident - aside from her service as a Peace Corps <br />Volunteer teaching English in Azerbaijan. She is an educator who received her BA in <br />English from Oregon State University and her MAT from Pacific University. Her focus and <br />passion as an educator is cultural competency, as well as literature and history. <br /> <br />Past Members Serving in 2017: <br /> <br />Eric Van Houten has a Masters in Social Work and is a senior level health care <br />administrator. His background includes working with individuals with a myriad of issues <br />including drug and alcohol abuse and addiction, mental health issues, violence, and <br />homelessness. Eric was raised in Eugene, OR and returned to the community in 1993. <br />Eric’s background includes a 3 year stint with the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Senegal, <br />West Africa. He is married with two children. <br /> <br />Chris Wig, CRB Vice Chair and Chair, serves as Chair of the Democratic Party of Lane <br />County and works as the Program Director for the Drug Court Program at Emergence <br />Addiction and Behavioral Therapies. Chris earned his MS in journalism from the University <br />of Oregon and his BA in cultural anthropology from the University of Toronto. He serves <br />the Eugene community as an advocate for housing affordability, alcohol and drug <br />treatment, and police-community relations. Chris also serves as a member of the Grupo <br />Latino de Accion Directa Executive Board, Intergovernmental Housing Policy Board Renter <br />Protection Workgroup and Democratic Party of Oregon Executive Committee.
