24  <br />  <br />• Officers A, B, and C were dispatched to a disorderly subject described as “violent and <br />aggressive.” Officer C was the primary officer. Officer B contacted the suspect and the <br />Reporting Party (RP). <br />• Officer B later stated he was having trouble communicating with RP. Officer A <br />arrived and also contacted RP. <br />• RP later complained to the Auditor’s Office that Officer A repeatedly told him to <br />“shut the f*** up” and that Officer A flipped him off when he left the scene. <br />• The investigation showed that Officer A used profanity repeatedly during his <br />conversation with the RP. <br />• Officer A denied that he flipped off RP when leaving; in-car video (ICV) of the incident <br />appeared to show him waving to a different group (but video quality was somewhat poor). <br /> <br />Allegations: <br /> 1. 1101.1.B.7 Courtesy: That Officer A spoke to the RP in a discourteous and <br />unprofessional manner, using profane and insolent language. <br /> <br />2. 1101.1.B.7 Courtesy: That Officer A used a profane and insolent gesture directed <br />toward RP as he drove away from the scene of their contact. <br />  <br />Recommended Adjudications: <br /> <br />1. A discussion of language as use of force ensued with some members <br />believing it could be a useful tool and others feeling that its use at all was unprofessional. <br /> <br />H. October Case Review <br /> <br />Officer A and Officer B were dispatched to a call of a suspicious subject who had <br />frightened the caller. Officer B contacted the person and was concerned by his <br />responses to her questions.
