November 19, 2018, Work Session – Item 1

FY19 Work Plan Summary The FY19 Work Plan includes five overarching topics areas:
1) City Council Engagement. The Commission will explore ways to increase engagement with City Council.
2) Climate Change Policy. The Commission plans to explore and/or contribute to CAP2.0 outreach and policy, waste reduction policy, the Transportation System Plan implementation, biophilic design, neighborhood preparedness, and natural gas policy.
3) FY18 Follow-Up of Proposals Sent to City Council. The Commission plans to follow up on all items sent to City Council in FY18 that City Council has not taken action on.
4) Monitor. The Commission will monitor Envision Eugene and efforts to address Eugene’s housing crisis. The Commission will provide input as opportunities emerge.
5) Emerging Issues. This item gives the Commission the flexibility to address unforeseen, but important sustainability-related items presented by the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, Commissioners or the public.
Triple Bottom Line Process The Commission developed its FY19 Work Plan as part of its August 2019 Retreat.
