www.RiverRoad-SantaClaraPlan.org 20

Parks and Natural Resources
In general, low-income respondents answered the Parks and Natural Resources question the same as the
overall responses. The one difference was that trail connections ranked slightly higher than plaza or gathering
spot. However, the difference was too small to make any generalizations.

The only difference between responses from low-income participants and from the general community was
that low-income participants ranked small parks in all parts of the neighborhood as a priority most often.
Besides this, the order of priorities was the same as for the overall responses.

57
45
37 35
23 22
0
10
20
30
40
50
60
Small parks in
all parts of the
neighborhood
Expand
greenway/bike
path along
river
Large
community
park
Natural areas
and streams
Trail
connections to
farmlands
outside city
Plaza or
gathering spot
Ti
m
e
s

C
h
o
s
e
n

i
n

T
o
p

3

P
r
i
o
r
i
t
i
e
s
Parks and Natural Resources Responses: Low Income
35
31 31 30
24 21
13
0
5
10
15
20
25
30
35
40
Small parks in
all parts of
the
neighborhood
Connectivity
forbiking and
walking
Recreation
amenities
Trails and
habitat
restoration
Community
center
River access Plaza or
gathering
spot
Ti
m
e
s

C
h
o
s
e
n

i
n

T
o
p

3

P
r
i
o
r
i
t
i
e
s
Parks and Natural Resources Responses: Low Income
November 19, 2018, Work Session – Item 2
