Items sold typically include kitchen, cleaning, office, and household supplies. <br />816 Hardware/Paint Store <br />These stores typically sell home improvement supplies such as home-building materials, small <br />tools, keys, locks, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, cleaning products, housewares, paint, <br />and lawn and garden products directly to consumers for use at home or for business. <br />817 Nursery (Garden Center) <br />A nursery or garden center is a freestanding building with an outside storage area for planting or <br />landscape stock. Some have large greenhouses and offer landscaping services. Most have office <br />storage, and shipping facilities. In addition to a variety of store types, a shopping center may <br />contain non -merchandising facilities, such as office buildings, movie theaters, restaurants, post <br />offices, banks, health clubs, and recreational facilities (e.g. ice skating rinks, indoor miniature <br />golf). A shopping center also provides on-site parking facilities sufficient to serve its own parking <br />demands. In addition to the integrated unit of stores and commercial areas, a shopping center <br />may include out -parcels (peripheral buildings or pads located on the perimeter of the center <br />adjacent to the streets and major access points). <br />823 Factory Outlet Center <br />A factory outlet center is a shopping center that primarily houses stores that sell factory -made <br />goods directly to consumers for less than current retail prices. <br />826 Specialty Retail Center and Other <br />Specialty retail centers are generally small strip shopping centers that contain a variety of retail <br />shops and specialize in quality apparel, hard goods, and services such as real estate offices, <br />dance studios, florists, and small restaurants. This use category also includes miscellaneous <br />retail and services that may not fit into other available use categories, as determined by staff. A <br />specialty retail center is typically oriented along and parallel to the adjacent street. <br />841 Automobile Sales <br />In addition to automobile sales, these dealerships often include areas for servicing, parts sales, <br />offices, and used car sales. <br />[Combines ITE use codes 841 Automobile Sales and 842 Recreational Vehicle Sales.] <br />843 Automobile Parts Sales <br />These facilities specialize in the sale of automobile parts for do-it-yourself maintenance and <br />repair. These <br />facilities are not equipped for on-site vehicle repair or automobile sales/service. <br />848 Tire Store <br />These stores primarily specialize in the sale, installation and repair of tires. Some stores also <br />include other automotive maintenance or repair services and customer assistance.
