<br />M I N U T E S <br /> <br /> <br />Eugene City Council <br />Executive Session/Work Session <br />McNutt Room—Eugene City Hall <br /> <br /> July 25, 2006 <br /> 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCILORS PRESENT: Jennifer Solomon, Andrea Ortiz, Bonny Bettman, David Kelly, Gary <br />Papé, George Poling, Chris Pryor, Betty Taylor. <br /> <br /> <br />A. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />The council met in executive session in accordance with Oregon Revised Statute 192.660(2)(a). <br /> <br /> <br />B. WORK SESSION: Police Auditor <br /> <br />Her Honor Mayor Kitty Piercy called the Eugene City Council into regular session at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Solomon, seconded by Ms. Ortiz, moved to initiate a background and reference check <br />on Cristina Beamud. <br /> <br />Mr. Kelly said the pool of applicants was great and Ms. Beamud had a solid background. He suggested that <br />those doing the site visit consider the areas for further research identified by the community panel. <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy said the council was lucky to have a good pool of candidates and that the candidate selected to <br />move forward in the process was experienced. She concurred with Mr. Kelly’s suggestion. <br /> <br />Mr. Papé expressed thanks to the community panel for its input. He also thanked consultant Gary Blackmer <br />for his assistance, perspective, and expertise. <br /> <br />Mr. Poling indicated he would not be able to support the motion but would support the majority decision of <br />the council in regard to the selected candidate. <br /> <br /> The motion passed, 5:3; Ms. Solomon, Mr. Poling, and Mr. Pryor voting no. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Dennis M.
