1 <br />BOHNER Rodney T <br />From:Ameritech <rcmd@ameritech.net> <br />Sent:Monday, May 27, 2019 2:31 PM <br />To:BOHNER Rodney T <br />Subject:Consideration of annexation request <br />Dear Mr. Bohner,  <br />I am writing with concerns for the consideration of annexation request for file name:  Porter, Daniel and Brenda (A 18‐ <br />12).   <br />I propose to NOT accept the annexation request. We were made aware that the owners of the property have plans to  <br />build a second home on their lot that currently contains a rental home property. There have been contractors at the site  <br />measuring and when we spoke with them they confirmed that they were measuring to build a house in the backyard of  <br />the current house.  <br />I have spoken to at least 5 other families that received the notice of annexation and they all believe that building on that  <br />property would not be in the best interest of our subdivision. There are many reasons we as a neighborhood agree this  <br />would not be a good idea.  <br />1) All the lots in the Lenore subdivision are currently filled. So we are at max occupancy at this time. Building another <br />home so close to the house that’s there would make it more congested increase traffic and parking. <br />2) There are 22 children under the age of 12 on this one block area and they use this very narrow street to ride bikes, <br />skateboards, walk their dogs, and play in the street and park. Adding more congestion and cars on the street would <br />compromise the safety of the children and ability to freely play, and access the street and park, as they do now. <br />3)The street is not a full‐sized Street. It is very narrow and not enough room to park on both sides of the street, it is <br />restricted to parking on one side only. Adding another household to the street would create more cars and need for <br />parking that would compromise that already tight driving and parking we currently have. <br />4) Access to the new house would involve making sure a driveway was in place and the streets are currently already <br />congested and over‐parked. <br />5) We bought our house three years ago and were told it was the last lot to be developed in the Lenore subdivision. We <br />bought into a well thought out developed area expecting it to not become more over‐developed. <br />6) We share a fence line with the property requesting annexation, and it would greatly infringe on our privacy to have <br />another house built in the back yard between us and the current house. It is not a huge backyard and a house would <br />likely take up the whole yard space and impose on the privacy of our house and the house that’s now on the Porter’s <br />property. <br />7) The house on the Porter’s property is used as a rental, and the current renters moved in only two months ago. They <br />have two small children under the age of five that have been constantly using the backyard for playing and <br />entertainment since the day they moved in. They spend hours a day out in the backyard and their parents Have installed <br />a trampoline that has attracted many of the neighborhood kids to come over and play in the backyard on a daily basis. <br />Taking away the backyard from this family, their small children, and the children of the neighborhood would be cruel. <br />ATTACHMENT C <br />June 10, 2019, Meeting – Item 4C
