MINUTES – Eugene City Council June 10, 2019 Page 1 <br />Meeting <br />MINUTES <br />Eugene City Council <br />Harris Hall, 125 East 8th Avenue <br />Eugene, Oregon 97401 <br />June 10, 2019 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />Councilors Present: Betty Taylor, Emily Semple, Alan Zelenka, Jennifer Yeh, Mike Clark, Greg Evans, Claire Syrett, Chris Pryor Mayor Vinis opened the June 10, 2019, meeting of the Eugene City Council. <br />1.PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAGEugene Police Cadets Caleb Pruitt, Adilena Rios, Lauren Nusser, and Chance Cummings led thePledge of Allegiance to the Flag in honor of Flag Day on June 14.Council Discussion <br />•Councilor Zelenka – talked about City Council participating in the Pledge of Allegiance,acknowledging certain holidays throughout the year and inviting community members toparticipate in leading the Pledge. <br />2.PUBLIC FORUM1.Todd Boyle – proposed new zoning specifically for low-income housing.2.Sabrina Siegel – shared concerns about communication between council and the city attorney.3.Bekki Bruckner – shared concerns about communication between council and the city attorney.4.Abraham Likwornik – shared concerns about City Council communication and 5G.5.Joshua Korn – shared concerns about 5G technology.6.Barbara Wade – read a letter from Peter DeFazio about the safety of 5G technology.7.David Piccioni – made comments about community safety and police enforcement.8.Carolyn Partridge – shared concerns that Eugene will not meet emissions reduction goals.9.Linda Heyl – shared concerns about NW Natural’s deep decarbonization plans.10.Rouanna Garden –encouraged no new expansion of natural gas in the area.11.Robin Bloomgarden – talked about the need to phase out fossil fuels, including natural gas.12.Jim Neu – shared concerns about NW Natural’s deep decarbonization plans.13.
