Eugene City Council Retreat Report <br />January 2007 <br /> <br /> <br />Transportation Initiative <br />Develop mechanisms to adequately fund our transportation system for cars, <br />trucks, bikes and pedestrians including maintenance and preservation and <br />capital re-construction. <br /> <br />Supported by six members of the governing body. (Mike Clark, Kitty Piercy, <br /> <br />Andrea Ortiz, Jennifer Solomon, Alan Zelenka and George Polling) <br /> <br />Goals Considered but not agreed to by six of the eight members <br />of the governing body present: <br /> <br />West Eugene Transportation <br />Develop and implement a process to address short and long term <br />traffic/transportation issues in West Eugene. <br /> <br />Supported by four members of the governing body (including Jennifer Solomon, <br />George Polling, Kitty Piercy and Andrea Ortiz) – INSUFFICIENT SUPPORT TO <br />BE A COUNCIL GOAL <br /> <br />Land Supply Initiative <br />Identify feasibility of providing an accurate and dynamic inventory of commercial, <br />industrial and residential land. <br /> <br />Supported by two members of the governing body (George Polling and Mike <br />Clark) – INSUFFICIENT SUPPRT TO BE A COUNCIL GOAL <br /> <br /> <br />Debrief/Next Steps <br /> <br />The group agreed that the next step was to schedule a work session to provide the <br />Council with an opportunity to further define what “success” looks like with regard to the <br />Council goals prior to the development of new workplans. The Council should consider <br />the following questions in accomplishing this task: <br /> <br />? <br /> What is the task to be accomplished? <br />? <br /> What will success look like? <br />? <br /> How (when) will we know this is completed? <br />? <br /> How does the goal tie to the adopted Vision and Values? <br /> <br /> <br />Management Partners, Inc. 11 <br /> <br />
