Ms. Ortiz, seconded by Mr. Pryor, moved to direct the City Manager to conduct a <br />public hearing on February 20, 2007, on a proposed amendment to Ordinance No. <br />20278, increasing the Business License Tax on Motor Vehicle Fuel Dealers by <br />three cents to the 8-cent level and repealing the sunset provision on the two-cent <br />fuel tax increase enacted 2005, with the intent that the proceeds from the addition <br />three cents be dedicated to funding Road Fund operations and maintenance activi- <br />ties. <br /> <br />Ms. Bettman asked if the gas tax covered diesel fuel and where there diesel suppliers were within the City <br />limits. Mr. Corey explained the tax was a business license tax on the sale of fuel delivered to retailers inside <br />the City and there were many retailers selling diesel. <br /> <br />The motion passed unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />Mr. Zelenka, Mr. Pryor, Ms. Solomon, and Ms. Bettman agreed to be on a subcommittee to work with staff <br />on a funding proposal. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Dennis M.
