Trailhead <br />A major access-point to the trail network <br />that typically includes on-street parking <br />or a designated off-street parking area . <br />Trailheads can also include a kiosk with a <br />map and trail information and othe r <br />passive rec reational elements such as <br />benches, picnic tables, and bicycle racks. <br />Where possible, trailheads should be <br />aligned with public transit routes and <br />stops. Trailheads and associated parking <br />areas are monitored on a regular basis so <br />that problems can be addressed . <br />Water Trail <br />Water Trails are designated routes on <br />rivers or streams that are suitable for <br />non-motorized boating (canoes, kayaks, <br />stand -up paddle boards , tubes , etc.). <br />Facilities could include features such as <br />designated water access points, <br />directional signage and maps, life vest <br />loan stations, etc. Navigational <br />improvements could be made including <br />removal of dangerous navigation hazards <br />where they exist. <br />Equestrian Trails <br />Equestrian trails are not currently part of <br />Eugene's trail system and the Trails Plan <br />does not recommend specifically <br />designating trails that are open to horses <br />at this time.
