City would pursue short-term strategies <br /> to preserve/improve existing roadways in west Eugene, including <br /> improvements to West 11th west of Beltline; Beltline from West 11th to <br /> Roosevelt; and the West 11~h - Beltline intersection. City would also work <br /> with local and state governments to develop comprehensive long-term <br /> transportation strategies for west Eugene that may include: traffic flow <br /> improvements on West 11~h Avenue east of Beltline; new or enhanced <br /> roadways to improve street connectivity; increased use of alternative modes <br /> such as transit, bike paths, and possible commuter rail. If this measure <br /> passes, XX acres of wetlands west of Beltline would be preserved. Other <br /> costs, environmental and traffic impacts are yet to be determined.
